Background and relevant experience: Finn is a Medical Doctor with Master’s degree in Public Administration and has worked 8 years as a clinician and more than 30 years with development assistance to the health sector in Africa and Asia, including 11 years living in developing countries (Botswana, Bangladesh, India & Tanzania).

With a main professional focus on policy development and health systems strengthening, Finn is keen to promote country ownership and development effectiveness. He has a proven track record as team leader, for example from appraisals and joint assessment, and an ability to work across cultures.

Most recent work has been for WHO (almost 2.5 years), last as Senior Health Advisor, initiating and supporting the transformation of IHP+ to the UHC 2030 partnership. Before that Finn was Senior Health Specialist for the World Bank in Washington for 7 years, and prior to that worked 14 years for Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ technical services in different capacities, including 7 years as the Ministry’s Chief Technical Adviser on Health, having overall responsibility for technical assessments in relation to Danida’s health programs and international work. For 4 years Finn was also an External Associate Professor at Copenhagen University teaching MIH students health economics and organisational theory.

Personal: Finn currently lives in his native Copenhagen. He is fluent in English and understands French.
