Background and Relevant Experience:

Mark has worked in international development for over 25 years including 12 years as an economic adviser with DFID. Mark is currently Mott MacDonald Health's Lead Specialist in Economics and Financing but also works on a freelance basis. Whilst his main focus is on economics and financing he has general expertise in aid effectiveness, aid instruments and SWAps at both global and country levels. He has undertaken long term overseas assignments in Botswana and Uganda and, most recently, in Cambodia. He has worked for a range of bilateral and multilateral institutions including the World Bank, DFID, GAVI, the Global Fund, WHO, IDRC, Norad, Sida, AFD, USAID and PEPFAR, UNFPA and UNAIDS.
